London-based singer Hollie Cook is a bundle of joy waiting to enter your life and make it better. Hollie refers to her music as tropical pop, which is really what it sounds like – kind of a reverential take on classic rocksteady, that sounds modern at the same time. Hollie got started on this musical path singing backup, touring and recording with The Slits and has since put out an album and a few singles in the UK. Her music hasn’t really taken off the in US yet, but it’s only a matter of time in my opinion. I mean – her music is totally, 100% irresistible. To test my theory, watch this video of her performing “Milk & Honey” on Later with Jools Holland and try not to fall in love:
Her music is only available in the UK now, but you can cop CDs, vinyl and mp3s from her webstore.
