By now, y’all may have gathered that Power Animals love the finer things in life, things that we may or may not be able to afford! One of these fine things happens to be champagne, or prosecco, or basically any sparkling wine, be it white or red. And, while recently chilling at the Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governors Island with PAs Kiki and Nina (and Kiki’s super awesome boyfriend), I learned that I also have supreme love for one deliciously effervescent champagne cocktail, made possible by the marriage of champagne and St-Germain.
The St-Germain cocktail is seriously so amazing and so addictive that I pretty much had one permanently attached to my arm at all times whilst gallivanting around on Governors Island, and PA Hillary and I decided that a pitcher of these beauties was a necessary component of a recent 4th of July barbecue. And, to top it all off, they are super easy to make! A dream cocktail, my friends? Yes yes, I really think so. Perhaps try out the recipe below, and tell us if you agree!
ST-GERMAIN COCKTAIL RECIPE
Things You’ll Need:
2 Parts Brut Champagne or Dry Sparkling Wine
1.5 Parts St-Germain
2 Parts Sparkling Water or Club Soda
What To Do:
Fill a tall Collins glass with ice. Add Champagne first, then St-Germain, then Club Soda. Stir completely.* Garnish with a lemon twist, making sure to squeeze essential oils into the glass.
* St-Germain is heavier than wine, thus it will settle to the bottom unless mixed thoroughly.
