As you know, Power Animals love gel manicures, especially Calgel. Calgel is the best for your nails, lasts the longest, and comes in tons of awesome colors. I’ve had a bunch of Calgel manicures and am always impressed with their durability and resilient shine. This summer, I decided to try a Calgel a pedicure for the first time – mostly because I’ve been disappointed with how regular polish pedicures wear at the beach. There’s nothing worse than stepping onto the beach with a shiny new pedicure only to have it dulled by sunscreen and sand a few hours later.
I chose Pure Nail Salon because it’s close to my apartment and one of the best deals in the City for Calgel. They have a good color selection, quality service, and a Calgel pedicure for $43. The pedicure included the whole chair massage, soaking, and scrubbing routine before moving to a nail station for the Calgel application. I chose a hot pink shade (#139 from the Calgel Hot Collection) and the end result was fabulously shiny and smooth. Today was my fifth day in a row on the beach (teaching = summers off) and I am amazed with how well my pedicure is holding up. It looks as good as a day I got it – no chips, no dulling, all awesome.
