I know I am not the only PA who is pretty obsessed with the color blocking trend. PA Melissa, PA Nina, PA Tammy and I have all sung the praises of the colorful FUN that is happening in stores right now. Last time I was in Zara I overheard a girl say “this collection should win an AWARD!” to her friend. Giiiiirl, I agree!
Brightly colored wide-leg trousers (another trend I am loving), crisp jewel-toned tops with gold zipper detailing, tons of bold stripes, and more. A lot of the cutest spring stuff has been snapped up already in the Zara Soho store in order to make room for the more white and neutral summer collection, but there is still plenty of color to go around.
Another of my faves Yumi Kim gets into the color blocking game with these adorable pieces including the Claudia jacket, which a summer update of the YK Chloe jacket (one of my absolute favorite items of clothing). I am seriously coveting it in hot pink too.
Heed this post as a loving encouragement to snap up some happiness-in-the-form-of-bright-colorful-clothing! No one is even giving us freebies to get us to dig this stuff–we just actually happen to be in love with it of our own accord (even if it’s not as WFD as PA Tammy likes it to be but is more WFRW, as I like it to be).
And in case you were wondering where this color blocking trend has its origins, it was with the DOPE Spring/Summer 2011 Gucci collection. I’ve been drooling over that line since the moment I saw it. Bananas. I die. etc.
