In my first real “music industry” office job, I worked as a receptionist. One day, Kelis came into the office looking fresh-faced, glossy-lipped and overall, extremely glamorous. I will never forget the way she looked and the fact that she was wearing the most amazing outfit – an extravagant full-length fur coat and sweatpants. LOVE. I also (as weird as this may sound) never forgot the way she smelled. We were all, in fact, mesmerized by the fragrance she was wearing; somehow it seemed to embody her fur coat/sweatpants attitude – captivating, yet casual. One of us finally got up the nerve to ask her what perfume she was wearing and graciously, she told us it was Silver Mountain Water by Creed.
I longed to have a bottle of this scent for years and finally procured my first bottle last summer. I LOVE IT. The bottle itself is super badass. According to Creed, “Silver Mountain Water’s bottle looks like a Swiss mountain topped with virgin snow. Its cap is a glistening silver stream.” I can get behind that!
Also, the scent is one of their “universal” fragrances, meaning that it can be worn by someone of any sex. Again, I’m going to let Creed do the work and describe the scent in detail: “A refreshing infusion of green tea and black currants. As bracing as a pure mountain waterfall in springtime. Top Notes: Bergamot, mandarin. Middle Notes: Green tea, black currant. Base Notes: Galbanum, musk, sandalwood, petit grain.” There you have it. A scent that isn’t too feminine, isn’t too masculine and has plenty of sass and glamour – it’s my dream!
