About Tammy Wood

I may lay claim to being a clean freak, but my I strive for chillin-on-a-chaise-lounge-on-the-riviera-sipping-caipirinhas style. When not at home with my photog husband and our satellite eared dog Paco, I'm writing papers and teaching French to the next generation. I watch too many sports, have been known to break it down on the dance floor, bake a mean bread, and train the sh*t out of my stubborn dog.

Worth Your Viewing Pleasure: The Carrie Diaries

Worth Your Viewing Pleasure: The Carrie Diaries

It’s true, I cringed at the sight of the first ad I saw of The Carrie Diaires.  It just seemed like too much to live up to, and so often prequels are a just a distant shadow of the O.G.  There’s also the fact that the show was a creation of the CW – this(…)

I Swore I’d Never: Frilly & Floral Jill Stuart Jumper

I Swore I’d Never: Frilly & Floral Jill Stuart Jumper

Do I have a thing for jumpsuits? If you were to sneak into my closet and rifle through my clothes, you would think not. But here’s my secret: I love them, but own only one. I’m pretty sure it’s the simplicity of the outfit: one piece and you’re out the door. It also falls solidly(…)

Luxurious Simplicity from HÆRFEST

Luxurious Simplicity from HÆRFEST

Full disclosure: I was originally introduced to Haerfest through Steve, who just last year started collaborating with them by photographing their collection for their website. Steve came home one day with a weathered leather wallet/card holder that he had bought for me, that I really thought I’d only use on occasion. But the more I(…)

I Swore I’d Never: Bass Shoes

I Swore I’d Never: Bass Shoes

Like a madeleine dipped into Proust’s cup of tea, Bass kicks take me way back to outlet shopping in Secaucus with my mother. This was back in the day, when outlet shopping meant digging through cardboard boxes and looking through rows of discontinued models to find something in the right size. Bass was one of(…)

Rodarte Wrap Tease

Rodarte Wrap Tease

It’s the holiday season, and we’re all scrambling around for gifts for our friends, family, coworkers, what have you. So much thought and energy goes into the gift, that the wrapping paper is just an afterthought… for most people at least. I try to do something different with my wrapping every year, but I usually(…)

The Deadfall Trap (or How to Survive the Squirrel)

The Deadfall Trap (or How to Survive the Squirrel)

You can look at this video two ways: the first, is that you’re stuck in the woods, by yourself, sole survivor of a twin engine plane crash. The second, which is far more likely, is that you’re terrified of squirrels, and have decided to do something about it. Either way, Steven Brahms’ latest video creation(…)

Non-Edibles: Fredericks & Mae Wings

Non-Edibles: Fredericks & Mae Wings

The art/design team of Fredericks & Mae have perfected a craft that I thought Steven Brahms (my husband) had recently invented. Steve’s been working on some homemade lures for a photo project, and one day opened a lovely little box to show me a butterfly wing that he had just built using pieces of different(…)

Kunstlerschutz Animal Buddies

Kunstlerschutz Animal Buddies

There are times in human history that you would just prefer to ignore. Once upon a time, there was this thing called the Beanie Baby. Miniature animal-shaped bean bags that were the unfortunate rage that consumed an entire nation. I think I owned one, at some point – but in my defense it was(…)
