The education funding agency oversees the financial management and management of academies. In March 2016, it was found that the Perry Beeches The Academy Trust, a multi-academy trust fund, removed financial documents for $2.5 million in free school meal funding and that the executive director was paid by both subcontractors and the foundation. Its schools will probably be taken over by a new trust. In August 2016, the former director and founder of Kings Science Academy, the former CFO and a former teacher who was the founder`s sister, were convicted of defrauding $150,000 of public funds. The academies program has also been strongly criticized by some for handing schools over to private sector entrepreneurs who, in many cases, have no experience in the education sector: such as the evangelical Christian car dealer Sir Peter Vardy, accused of promoting, in addition to macro-decentralization in his academies of the Emmanuel Schools Foundation, the teaching of creationism. This is also related to the wider debate in the education sector about the growing benefits or role of religion in the school system, promoted by the New Labour government in general and by Tony Blair in particular, with many academies (an estimate of the figures at “more than half”) sponsored either by religious groups , either by religious organizations or individuals. At the same time, the new Conservative-led coalition government announced that it was redirecting funds for school specialties to general funding. This meant that high schools no longer received a closed envelope of $130,000,000 directly from the government for each of their specializations. One way to regain direct control over their finances was to become a conversion academy and obtain all of its funding directly from the government, with the possibility of purchasing services at a lower price. This, with some schools wanting more independence from local authority control, meant that many public secondary schools in England converted to academy status in subsequent years. Always get the Academy funding contract you are dealing with. Funding agreements are no longer available via a link. To obtain the funding agreement, look for the Academy in reference to its full name in the performance section of the Department of Education (DfE) Site. A clause on coastal school education has been added to the Special Academy and Free School Model Funding Agreement: Single Academy Trusts and “Alternative provision academy and free school model funding agreement: single academy trusts` documents.” Academies do not have to follow the national curriculum and can define their own semester schedules, staff salaries, school curriculum. They must always follow the same rules on admission, special educational needs and exclusion as other public schools. Academies continued to be the subject of controversy, and their existence was often opposed and questioned by some politicians, commentators, teachers, teachers` unions and parents. Even after several years of operation and freedom and with a number of academies, the program continues to be attacked, in order to create schools that would be, among other things, a waste of selective money that harms schools and communities around them to force parents who do not want them and a step towards privatizing education “through the back door”. The City Academy`s initial program was attacked because of its cost: it cost an average of $25 million to build an academy under this program, much of which was borne by the cost of the new buildings.
