If you haven’t yet gotten thee to the Guggenheim to check out James Turrell’s exhibition there, time is running out! The exhibit, featuring the transformation of the rotunda into a multi-colored, seemingly endless tunnel of light and texture and space, closes September 25th. It’s bound to be busy when you go, but wait it out a while and get a space lying flat on the comfy round mat in the center of the room and just stare into it for a while. It’s a lovely experience that encourages one to notice, ponder, and appreciate light and space, and also to zone the fuck out. I want more James Turrell in my life!
