Meat Grilled on Crystal = The Good Life, Korean Style

Korean food lovers, it’s time to rejoice! The amazing Hanjoo – complete with its unique grills made of CRYSTAL – has opened an outpost in the East Village! Not that it’s not worth the trek out to Murray Hill (the Queens version), but knowing that such delicious food is a mere hop-skip-jump from my apt and not a $30 car service ride makes the experience even more awesome.

The thing I ALWAYS get (that I suggest you also get) is the Do-Ya-Ji – basically a platter of assorted pork belly to grill, both thick- and thin-sliced, fresh, green tea, bean paste and garlic. Bring friends – it’s definitely meant for about 4 people. And apparently, grilling the meat on crystal not only makes it taste delicious, but also has health benefits like strengthening your immune system, restoring cells and purifying your blood!

Next time the urge for Korean food strikes, hit up Hanjoo – either in Manhattan at 12 St. Marks (at 3rd Ave.) or in Murray Hill in Queens at 41-06 149th Pl.
