As a prelude to what would be a best-night-ever type night (Jay-Z’s final show at Barclay’s with special guest BEYONCE), I had dinner at Taro Sushi per the suggestion of some very wise friends. Said friends had been talking up Taro for years, but this was my first time going with them…and I can safely say it won’t be my last! EVERY SINGLE THING I HAD WAS DELICIOUS – from the Renkon Hasami-Age (deep fried stuffed lotus root with chopped shrimp & japanese leek, wrapped by miso leaf) to the dreammmmy miso-glazed tilapia to the Special Sushi for Two combo which my bf and I devoured every single bite of. Just sushi can often be boring, but these pieces were all so flavorful, special and high-quality that each bite was so exciting. This is some of the best sushi I’ve had in the city, straight up, and the prices are totally reasonable! It’s not surprising that their other location is in Japan.
Next time you have a hankering for sushi, but don’t want to drop your entire paycheck, hit up Taro in Brooklyn at 244 Flatbush Ave.! I can’t wait to go back and try the Omakase.
