Hello friends! It’s been so long that I feel like it’s time for a reintroduction. Between school work, starting a new job, wedding planning, getting hitched, and going on a mini moon, I derailed from my blogging duties. That only means that there’s tons to catch up on, so prepare yourselves for some t-time.
Since I’m talking comebacks, what better way to dip my toe in the water than to bring back a classic. After quietly acquiescing to too much baseball viewing (which Steve doesn’t even follow, so not sure how that happened) I commandeered the remote and picked a movie instead. Neither of us had ever seen Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, which should probably be embarrassing, but, well, sometimes you don’t get around to certain things. All I can say is, go watch it. Whether you’ve seen it already, or you hate old movies, you have to see this one. The styling is absolutely OUT OF CONTROL. You will want every single outfit on screen – from the red sequined spectacle of the opening scene to Jane Russel’s understated and enviously perfect black halter top, to Marilyn’s pink number that’s burned into pop iconography – you’ll be gushing at every costume change.
Also, watch for the homoerotic song and dance number with Jane Russel – Madonna eat your heart out.
