Orrefors by Karl Lagerfeld

Karl Lagerfeld is the master image maker. The white hair slicked back in a ponytail, black, studded driving gloves, angular white collar, black suit, silver chains, and black sunglasses – it’s all fashion for the sake of defining a personal image. There’s nothing utilitarian about it. I mean, let’s face it, when was the last time Karl Lagerfeld drove himself anywhere?

The fashion icon is no less iconic in this video that Steve sent to me a few months ago. Mr. Lagerfeld has partnered with handmade glassware heavy-hitters Orrefors to create a Lagerfeld-designed set. I will let the man speak for himself, for I’ve learned that he is not only a master of fashion, but also a master of the one-liner. But as a teaser, be prepared for such gems as “The white glass is like a freestanding geometrical cloud,” and other comments on the importance of a saucer for every glass and the right glass for your diet coke.

Thank you, Karl. This was priceless.
