When I was in college, I used to help out at my father’s French restaurant, Le Rendez-vous in New Jersey. Every day I would go in with anxiety because Phillipe would ask me to arrange the flowers for the tables. “This needs a woman’s touch, Melissa,” he would say. Then I would try and the attempt would be so pathetic that my stepmother would take pity on me and do it herself.
Sadly, my flower arranging skills have yet to emerge, but I think 2011 might be the year that I take one more step towards becoming the domestic goddess that I long to be! I came upon Little Flower School recently, and not only do Nicolette and Sarah’s classes look like a lot of fun (one word: booze), but I am also really into their natural, unfussy style. Just take a look at some of the centerpieces they have taught folks to make:
$250 gets you all the materials you need to go home with your own gorgeous centerpiece! You can find Little Flower School in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
